At Retreat at Spring Park, we’re proud to announce our commitment to a cause that’s making a difference in countless lives: the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Light the Night walks.
Annually, we come together as a community to support the fight against blood cancers, and our residents are a vital part of our fundraising efforts!
Understanding the Impact of LLS
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has been leading the charge against blood cancers for over seven decades. Since 1949, LLS has been at the forefront of funding innovative research, offering patient support, and advocating for those affected by leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma.
But the work LLS does is more than just research—it’s about bringing hope and tangible support to families and individuals battling these diseases. The reality is, blood cancer doesn’t just affect those diagnosed; it touches families, friends, and entire communities.
That’s why we at Retreat at Spring Park are passionate about backing LLS’s mission. Together, we can be part of the solution and help create a world where blood cancers are a thing of the past.
What Makes Light the Night Walks So Special?
Light the Night walks are more than fundraising events—they are a powerful expression of solidarity and hope.
Picture thousands of glowing lanterns lighting up the night sky, each one symbolizing a life impacted by blood cancer. The walks are a chance for communities to come together, honor those who have fought the disease, and support those still battling.
Retreat at Spring Park is excited to be part of the Dallas/Fort Worth Light the Night Walk on October 12th, 2024. The evening will be filled with inspiring stories, moments of reflection, and a shared commitment to finding a cure.
Why Retreat at Spring Park is Getting Involved
At Retreat at Spring Park, we believe in the strength of community and the power of coming together for a common cause. By participating in Light the Night, we’re not just supporting a charity—we’re investing in the health and well-being of our friends, neighbors, and loved ones.
Making an Impact: Every contribution, no matter how small, supports LLS’s mission to cure blood cancers. Whether you walk, donate, or volunteer, your involvement makes a real difference in the lives of patients and their families.
Strengthening Bonds: It’s also a chance to build connections within our community. Walking for a greater purpose fosters a sense of unity, creating memories that last long after the lanterns have dimmed.
Honoring and Remembering: The walk’s symbolic lanterns—white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of loved ones—add a deeply personal touch to the evening. It’s a poignant reminder of why we walk and who we walk for.
